I was on medication for depression for 4 years on and off.Can you tell me is it possible to prevent depression relapse? Thank you.
It is common to release when you are not supporting your physiology and biochemistry. This means that you have to feed your brain right to have it function well. there can be many causes for depression so we’d first need to determine that: low thyroid, low blood sugar, food sensitivities (gluten and dairy being the most common), brain inflammation (most often due to the latter), lack of exercise, or nutritional deficiency. while the latter may have something to do with your genetics, like a methylation defect (see question #xx), you can overcome this with the proper nutritional supplementation. For my own patients, I check all these possibilities and more, and keep them on a good nutrient program as prevention, tailored to the individual. The simplest thing to do is take my Brain Recovery AM&PM which has nutrients that balance blood sugar, provide the raw materials for the various neurotransmitters, and fight inflammation. I combine this with omega 3 fatty acid in the form of my Super EPA, twice daily. If someone is over 40, I will add in Brain Cell Support Plus as well to give the brain a good boost.
