Folic Acid

Anonymous Staff asked 4 years ago

I so appreciate your generosity with the information that you share. There are a few of your products that I would like to order, but must have Folate (as Metafolin®** L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate) which is in some of your products but not in others. In the future, I hope that perhaps that can change, as there are many of us cognizant of the MTHFR problems. For instance, CALM is one that I would certainly like to use.

Thank you for all of your educational help.

I am glad you are familiar with the methylation issue— but its not that simple! We have other ways of methylating so the genetic mutation of 2 of the many variants — C677T and A1298 — are just part of the story. In fact some people should not take too much methyllfolate since it overmethylates them and they become anxious. In your case if you are taking it in a multi with methyfolate, such as my Twice Daily Multi and Brain Recovery AM or some other source, you don’t have to have every source of folic acid be methylated.
The CALM is an excellent product and helps many people chill out naturally. With it’s small amounts of co-factors, including folic acid, I recommend you rely on this mainly for the calming amino acids, and get your B vitamins elsewhere.
